Yay, swift travel across angmar. About time.
Although the Book 8 Chapter 5 exploit at the reflection pool worked quite well. ;D

Ettenmoors PvP rewards... forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=114924Some pretty decent gear there if you have the rank. This is the stuff you get when you farm in Ettendeeps to get the barter items. The cloaks (and I believe weapons) that you can buy from the vendor in GV based on rank are getting some upgrades in the next update (bk13), no word on the tokens/chests yet.

Minstrel PvMP rewards = lame, Lame, LAME! Grrr! Zero incentive for a Minstrel to play PvMP. I agree with Button; we are better off running the Rift for gear. And the Minstrel PvMP gear is LIGHT Armour, give me a break! I know people get away with it, but the stats ought to be geared for PvMP. That means (for a Minstrel, IMHO) medium armour with stats focused on Vitality (Morale), Will (Power) and ICPR. Oh, and a trinket or something to give us an escape ability would be nice, so we can avoid being ganked once in a while. I don't know about the other classes, but this was pretty disappointing news for me. I will continue to play PvMP since I enjoy it and I will hope the barter currency is not bound. That way I can at least earn some gold selling it on the AH (since it will have zero value to me). Otherwise it will be bag fodder.

Ageed... rank 8 for a full armor set...no thanks.
I'll go for the champ mace and a few of the jewelry items, but the armor will be filler until I get the rest of the Rift armor.

Interesting discussion. Can't make everybody happy all the time. I just want one of the sets and darn if I will ever be able to get it. I just don't have that kind of time. Not to mention that I can't even craft a set close to that because it requires insane amounts of time just camping looking for beryl shards.
It is very disheartening to know that unless I can find some way to increase my playing time 10 fold, I can't really obtain any of the end game gear. Maybe a piece or two, but a whole set, forget it.

Check Penumbra's website for rift runs. They usually run on the weekends. I think I read somewhere that they are changing the shard drops again to cut down on camping. Something like having every mob in a zone has a chance to drop one or something.
I got a champ helm during the Helegrod run last night and put it on the AH for 25G...I will get some beryl shards if it sells.

That's not really the point though.
It's not that there aren't opportunities to run the raids, I just don't have the time to do it.
Okay so that precludes me from getting the best gear in the game, not really a big deal. But I can't even craft the best craftable gear because you have to spend just as much time, if not more, than the raids require in trying to get rare drops.
Even if you do get some, it's a 33% chance at actually getting the stuff. So in theory I could craft a piece with 1 shard or more accurately, 1 in 3 should be good. But it doesn't work that way. I could go through 10 shards and never get the piece I want because it's just a 1 in 3 chance each time.
It's just sort of frustrating because the one thing they wanted to avoid was the mindless grind of WoW and they just keep making things more and more of a grind.
I guess I have reached the point Palenen has told me he reached. He realized that he just was never going to get the best gear because he didn't have the patience to do what it takes to get it. I am coming to that realization myself. I just find it frustrating in the sense that my one character potentially could reach those things, but not really, and the only thing standing in the way is time.

Elfs are gimp'd. Had I known and realized this first hand, I would have stuck it out with the dwarf. At least you have a couple hundred more moral than I can get currently. And block to boot! I created a elf guard and a dwarf guard on Roheryn. Man what a difference in the two. Everything the same except bumping them to 50, with skills, etc. Except for Racial traits. Hell, I dont even want to sign up for a guard position because I am not good enough. LOL!! At least, couple converstaions I read or heard about who has the most AC and Morale. Ill never get there. Just posted another Helegrod raid from PM. A guard posted in that thread he has 4200 morale. What the !!! Unfortunately, And I hate to say it, Being in a kin with members who dont actively play just adds to the frustration. Its like a struggle with no hope. Anyways, I saved up close to 5g but still couldnt get a piece of mirrored. Then I noticed one of my co-workers, who I hadnt seen in some time, was selling a pair of mirrored boots. Well, he was nice enough to let me have them for 2g. Bought another vault slot and now back down to 500 silver. LOL!! No raids for me and certainly no area I can place myself in, that may cause a death. I simply cannot afford.

I know you hate grinding Palenen, but just grab ore on the route to where ever you are heading. You will be surprised how fast it adds up and how much you can get for it on the AH.
I am sitting on a nice little pot all because that's what I do. I just can't bring myself to spend the coin on the mirrored stuff at AH prices.
The other aspect is morale isn't everything, even to a guardian. If you can trait and gear towards in-combat morale regen, then you can effectively make up the overall difference in morale numbers. See Jimli is set basically for total morale, but he really doesn't regen morale in combat.
If I traited him for in-combat morale regen, my overall morale number would be quite a bit lower.

ah hell dont listen to me. Just venting. After all I did save up to 5. It is a bit unfortunate that these instances are needed to get the 'cool' looking gear. Over and over and over and ... You see that Sword and Shield for the fiery quartz?

Hey all just browsing the thread. hey Palanen I'll group up with you if ever you are looking to go have some fun and can usually pull the arms of some others to get a group to do most anything! Even grinding. Grinding is way more fun with other people than it is alone that is for sure. Take care all and some nice articles.
