From what I understand, the advantage of having our housing and kinship hall gives discounts on the vendors in the neighborhood. Not to mention the extra storage space. Really not to clear. Hey Res, Have ya dloaded the test client to check it out? The other question is are you even planning to get a hall? The houses are pretty spread apart. Wish real life houses were that way. You can choose what street you want to be on too. That way others can get houses there as well. I have only checked out Elves. First thought was 'meh' but I can see the advantage with extra storage and discounts. Oh, we lose a slot to port home. Personally, Since The Shire is the dev's favorite. I can bet they did a bang up job on those houses. If in the shire though, or ered luin, or bree, etc. you will need to travel to the neighborhood or port home. Bree's neighborhood is south and a bit east of the yellow tree, Hobbits is the road to South Farthing and Elves is the area between the needlehole zone in and Duillond. Dwarves I havent a clue.

I would venture to say that a house in Bree is probably the best location. Since we are all different races, it is the most centrally located.
Eh...I don't know...I guess it would be best to locate it wherever it works out best for everyone.
I know for me and Res, a good spot would be Ered Luin because of the Superior forges there. Thus, a map back to that spot would be nice. But that may not work for others.

I have no preference personally. The Kinship Bank still has 13 Gold 600 Silver for housing rent payments, but I don't know how that all works. Do we still get to keep the 'Return to Bree' trait if we choose Bree as our Kinship location? Or the corresponding 'Return to . . .' for non-Man races depending on where we choose to set up shop?

I haven't downloaded the test client so I am not 100% but I believe with the kinship hall we get another "map home" to that location. I am fine with whatever location if you guys want to get one.

yeah you get to keep your skills. Map to bree, Map to rivendell for me. Map to Thorin's Hall im assuming. The map to your house or kin hall is another skill you get when you buy. To be honest, I havent checked them out but wouldnt mind living in the shire. For it has the MD swift travel. And I bet they spent more time developing Shire homes than the others and they might look better. Didnt care for the low end elves. You dont even get windows.

havent visited but seen a couple pics now of The Shire homes. I think they look better than most of the others. But where ever you choose to place the kin hall is all good.

Just a question...what exactly would we DO with a kinship house?
Can we store junk in there? Is there any special advantages to owning one?
Sorry I have not read the notes on housing...just hoping somebody can give me the quick and dirty.

The houses have walls, so we will have a place for those lurid posters of female dwarves and hot orcs-gone-wild pictures to hang. I guess.

Actually Palenen and I checked out the Dwarven houses yesterday. They are pretty neat. All underground in a grand cavern. Very picturesque.

So are we leaning towards a dwarf house in Ered Luin then?

. . . but without the full-page-spread glossy pin-ups of naked Dwarf chicks right?
