Was anyone else a SW fanatic like I was, played this game until SOE ran it into the ground? Check out what these guys did when SOE made the first major change with the Combat Upgrade thus rendering the old code obsolite. Which they can develope without issues. Mind you, they are a bunch of people that got together to do this. Pretty incredible. www.swgemu.com |

Interesting. I never played SWG. I wanted too, but when it first came out I read all over the place to wait awhile because it was so buggy. Then the expansion pack came out and I didn't get on...then everybody left because SOE came in and changed the game.
I will have to remember that site and go back and check for updates. Maybe I can play the game as I once wanted too.

There are three interesting MMO experiences in the years I've been playing this games.
SWG
MxO - the first three months.
LOTRO
SWG was the first time I had to back up, and realize I was getting way too into a video game; at the expense of my RL. I wasn't spending any quality time with my wife, or with my friends. It was all about getting more SWG. Loser with a capital "L".
However, the depth of immersion in that game engine, was unlike any other game I have ever played.

ya know.. i didn't start playing till after the overhaul and from my view it wasn't that bad, just that soe had no idea on how to run a game in the first place, i had a level 15 jedi and i was killing level 70 storm troopers in corellia cause my laser invinciablity worked on anyone lol. i think it was a good concept what they had.. they just executed it extremely poorly. not to mention the entire enviroment was bugged. but every soe game i have played has been like that  |
