Eäronóna, named as such by his mother's foresight, was born in Mithlond on January 29th, in the year 1285 of the Third Age. He is the direct descendant of the original Falathrim, and the only child of Rînidhreneth. Although Eäronóna and his mother Rînidhreneth have always been quite close, this was never the case in terms of the relationship with his father. Although there is no dislike between them, their relationship has always been strangely cordial at best. Instead, and perhaps contributing to their division, Eäronóna favoured the mutual friend of his parents, Círdan, above the counsel and company of his own father. Indeed, even at a young age it was plain to see that Eäronóna was, in a sense, smitten with Círdan. His never-ending admiration became something of a novelty and kind-natured joke in the community that surrounded him all of his life. Círdan, despite his worldweariness, was forever patient with young Eäronóna, and encouraged his inquisitiveness with much knowledge of years passed. Eäronóna became something of an apprentice to Círdan, and put forth great effort in learning archery in honour of the Teleri, and of the building and sailing of ships as taught to Círdan by Ossë. However, as his life progressed, the number of ships setting sail never to return from the port of Mithlond grew, and words of a darkness slowly growing in the east took a toll on his young elven heart, until finally he felt urged to take action. His only solace was the expectation that one day he would reunite with his loved ones on the last ship into the west.
Side Note: As I've read, you don't want "the long lost step-brother of Aragorn", so I'm a little shy in a sense to have a backstory that includes someone of great importance. However, it is my belief that the original Falathrim likely developed a special closeness when they decided to stay behind and become a colony of their own. A tightly-knit community, if you will. In which case, the opportunity to meet Círdan does not sound unlikely to me. His involvement is merely meant to be an influence to my character's development, so I do not feel that it makes him entitled to anything as the cousin of Legolas (or some such nonsense) might. More than anything his 'fixation' is meant to be a personality quirk, a "novelty and kind-natured joke" of others, if you will. And last, for what it's worth, I like to imagine Círdan to be humble and kind enough to humor such an elfling.
