If you are looking for a good, comprehensive resource for LOTR maps I recommended, The Atlas of Middle-Earth (Revised Edition) (Paperback) by Karen Wynn Fonstad. She has done some very in depth research and follows the books through the maps. It also makes a great accompaniment while your reading through the LOTR trilogy. It really give you an idea of just how big an area they cover.
